Strangely, my ideal hours for writing are from about 11PM - 5AM. Weird, huh? Well, for some reason, that's when my creativity flows the best. The issue with that is (and it's an obvious issue) is sleep! People can't think well when they are tired, and the same goes for me.
I am 100% a visual writer. I've GOT to see what I'm writing before I write it, otherwise, it just turns out . . . like garbage? Maybe garbage isn't the right word, but if I'm tired and try to write, it's mediocre work at best. That being said, there's definitely a sweet spot for authors to get **** done, and it's not when or where you'd expect it.
I get asked questions a LOT like "How much did you write today?" or "Did you finish that chapter yet?" or "When will the next book be out?" Usually, I respond with something bland like "I didn't get anything done," or "Not as much as I wanted." But sometimes, there's that one evening when the clock strikes 12, and things just click. Seriously click, and then BOOM, it's 5am, and I've just written an entire chapter in one go. I like those nights, and I wish every author out there the same luck - may inspiration hit you like a ton of bricks.
